On a Wedding Anniversary, a couple usually takes time to
reflect on major milestones in their relationship. If they are exceptionally
lucky, they might visit a place of particular significance.
Jeff pulled out all the stops for our third anniversary: he
brought me back to Patna.
This is a fully immersive anniversary, or as it’s done in
Patna, a 5-D experience (see "Five Dimensions in Patna" from Jeff's old blog). For the next three weeks, Jeff will be
starting his work as Senior Technical Manager at IDinsight (see IDinsight), while I
begin unit plans for next year’s curriculum and read an absolute ton of teacher
guides – half of my suitcase was filled with books J. And we’ll hopefully take the
time to share many small adventures on this blog.
We arrived this afternoon, and tonight, in celebration of our anniversary, we’re
planning a romantic, generator-lit dinner at one of our favorite restaurants
and a twilight stroll through the alleys near our old apartment, sidestepping packs
of street dogs. Wish us luck!
I hope your 5-D experience doesn't include global warming + roller coaster. Watch out for those street dogs, especially the puppies. I'm sure they will tug at your heartstrings. Don't forget you have one back here in the States waiting for you to come home!
