Sundi Proteins - Halal, Hygenic

* This title comes from the sign above a really sketchy looking shop (sorry to ruin your surprise, Erik; it has no bearing on the post)

JEFF AND I JUST GOT CARE PACKAGES. Yes, I'm acting like I'm a 13 year old who just started boarding school. I don't freaking care. We received two packages within a few days of each other (one from my mom, and one from my dad), and we are reveling in the wonderfulness that is American food.

Mom's chocolate arrived first. We emptied out the two produce drawers and packed them tightly with chocolate so that it doesn't melt too much more. Who needs vegetables when you've got See's!

I didn't actually count how much she sent, because I didn't want to feel embarrassed about being a glutton. We're still sticking to our one piece of chocolate a day rule (plus chocolate for visitors/guests), so I estimate that this chocolate will last us several months (until I get in a foul mood, and then it's a box a day).

Dad's box definitely looks the worse for wear. Apparently the United States Postal Service isn't all that savvy with shipments to Patna; I'm shocked that it made it at all. Surprisingly, the only casualties were the strawberry jam and the peanut butter cups (the latter of which all melted into one blob that distributed itself evenly around the bag it was put in, with the little wrappers sticking out at funny angles, so we're going to eat it caveman style tomorrow with lunch). We've invited the other RAs over to work, and we're going to feast!

Mac and Cheese and Godiva - who can ask for more from life?

  1. Eric? Ruining his surprise? Who is this 'Eric' with a 'c' to which you are referring?

  2. Crap crap crap sorry man. I have this weird thing about names with "k" sounds - one of our colleagues here is named Michael, and I tried to send an email to "Mikael." I swear it's nothing personal!

  3. Totally apologize for being my snarky passive-agressive self. Think nothing of it!

  4. Haha no it's no problem at all - I just keep making mistakes with names (you have no idea how much trouble I have with Indian names here), so to mess up the name of one of my good friends is frustrating for me!
